Okay, I know this whole easter egg thing has been played out but I’m honestly amazed that I cannot find anything on the internet about this. I remember noticing this possible easter egg the first time I saw Frozen at the theaters and thought. Oh… that’s pretty cool. I then proceeded to forget about it, until recently. My daughter happened to be watching Frozen and I happened to be in the process of mentally meditating with my phone when I gazed up and there it was again. Right there on the grassy knoll for all to see. After trying to convince my poor disconcerted daughter about how clever and observant her father is. I returned my focus to my overworked phone but this time I had a purpose. Of course, who was I kidding, this must’ve been posted all over the internet by now. Right? I cannot be the only clever orangutan who noticed this ingenious etching of the most iconic scene in Nightmare Before Christmas on a boulder in the background of one of the most beloved Disney animated movies. So, like an exploited Russian millennial hacking the DNC. I hit the search engines. Hard! After spending nearly five minutes I came up with absolutely nothing. Zilch. Sorry Charlie, better luck next time. Could it be? No one knew about this. Anxiety started to set in. This was too big for one man. I had to share it… with the world!
It was a sign! Virgin Mary on my toast. Don’t bother! Little cheeto that resembles Abraham Lincoln. Get out of the way! This was the holy grail of easter eggs. And I was the one who discovered it. After posting it as an achievement on my LinkedIn account. I took a breath… and actually, really, looked at it for the first time. Well, maybe, nope it’s definitely nothing. As you can clearly see it’s a collection of animated moss, growing on an enchanted boulder in a playful swirling pattern just waiting for some John to wink at. I’m guilty. I took its wink and used it to compensate for my lack of trend setting. An unconscious drive to be heard from the collective. I jumped the gun. I got excited about the fictitious possibilities. Just like right now I know this post will get me some type of Pulitzer blogger prize. With or without grammar issues.
In fact some easter eggs are actually put into a form a media by its creator as a nod to their true fans or out of pure boredom. But I can now tell you that my egg was not. But, you know what? It's my “easter egg” and I found it. I don’t care what anyone thinks. It is definitely the scene from Nightmare Before Christmas etched on a boulder in the background of Frozen and you can take that to your collective bank.
